1.27 Million(!) companies registered in Nigeria in 2013
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registered a total of 1.271 million companies in the first three quarters in 2013.
Alhaji Bello Mahmud, the registrar general of the CAC said the introduction of electronic workflows have led to efficiency gains over the previous method of manual registrations. The new systems have also drastically reduced the occurrences of name and number duplications. The new systems are also expected to reduce the cost of registering a company by at least 50%!.
